97. Kafta (Meat Fingers) With Tahini

Ingredients

3/4 pound ground beef

salt and ground black pepper to taste

1 cup water

3/4 cup tahini

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon mixed spices

Direction

Start preheating oven to 190 degrees C (375 degrees F).

In a bowl, put beef then combine in salt and pepper to season. Roll into 6 small finger-shaped pieces, then transfer into an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake in the prepared oven for about 7 minutes, until the beef starts to brown

In a bowl, mix pepper, salt, mixed spices, lemon juice, tahini, and water; whisk the mixture for about 5 minutes, until the tahini is fluffy and dissolved.

In a saucepan, place the tahini mixture over low heat; then cook while stirring often for about 3 minutes until simmering. Put in meat fingers. Simmer while stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes or until meat is cooked thoroughly and the inside is no longer pink. In the center, insert an instant-read thermometer; it should read 70 degrees C (160 degrees F) at the minimum.
